FIFA World Cup Song 2014
Gary Barlow has teamed up with a range of stars, including former football players, to record the official World Cup song. The track will be debuted on BBC One on March 21st.

The Take That singer will be joining forces with former football Gary Lineker for the track, with Lineker adding an image of the duo online to confirm the pair-up. "I'm getting together one hell of a group for England's official FIFA World Cup song for @sportrelief . Teaching @GaryBarlow a thing or 2” Lineker added on Twitter.

The official song, which will be a cover of the Take That hit ‘Greatest Day’, has been recorded at Sarm Studios, the same place as the 1984 Band Aid single was created. Spice Girls members Mel C and Emma Bunton will also be performing the track along with Kimberley Walsh from Girls Aloud, Katy B, Pixie Lott and sportsmen Michael Owen, Martin Keown and David Seaman.

England did not have an official song for the last World Cup in 2010 after the former manager Fabio Capello banned one saying everyone should be ‘fully focused on football.” The James Corden and Dizzee Rascal track ‘Shout’ became the unofficial anthem, topping the charts. Previous World Cup songs include Embrace’s ‘World At Your Feet’ in 2006 and the Ant and Dec single ‘We’re On The Ball’ (pictured below) in 2002, both releases reached no. 2 in the charts.

Proceeds from the sale will go towards the Sport Relief effort
