Many have ideas and requests, while some leave it to me to choose. During the day, your music can set a classy mood with say, classical or jazz, or you could create a tropical island feel with reggae or soca. You could have a non-stop all-day party with party classics, a festival vibe with acoustic hits, perhaps fun with Disney songs, or you could create a chilled vibe with some Ibiza chillout. This could also be the perfect time to play those extra special songs which might not work during the evening party.
The main time we play background music at a wedding is as the evening guests arrive. What do YOU do between the wedding breakfast and the first dance at a wedding? Do you just put on a mix, sit back and look bored? Or could you actually DJ some pretty cool tunes instead? DJing a background music session instead of just playing a mix before the evening party is quite a powerful thing. Not only can you set the mood for the evening, but it gives unexpected opportunities.
