As mobile DJs, hosts and entertainers, we all come up against stressful situations and unhealthy lifestyle habits. But by understanding how to breathe better and adopting some simple techniques and exercises, I believe we can all live a healthier, more focussed, less stressful life.

Examples of problem breathing and over breathing include:

breathing too deeply
breathing through the mouth
breathing too fast
breathing into your chest rather than your belly/diaphragm

We’ll look at some tips to avoid each of these in a moment, but first let’s explore what makes us breathe badly and learn how to check if our technique needs improvement.
