Those tracks sparked a new level of enthusiasm from my DJ friends and Mastermix members, inspiring me to follow up with a DJ Playlist that focusses on a music style that complements nu disco perfectly. It also offers DJs an opportunity to increase their music libraries with innovative versions of well-known classics and new dance tracks that are sure to fill dancefloors this summer.

Jackin’ House has been around for several years, but there is a new era upon us that is delivering some incredibly fresh sounding tunes. This genre can add a whole new dimension to your DJ sets and this DJ Playlist’s healthy balance of original tracks, reimagined versions and remixed classics mean you’ll be adding music to your library that will work for you and your audiences.

Whilst the Jackin’ house style is new, many of the tracks popular within this genre are remixed classic tunes, as we saw with nu disco. Some tracks have a funky house flavour, which makes them even more compatible with nu disco, but the main jackin’ house sound is grittier with more cut-up or mash-up style remixes – popular choices with DJs.

Artists like Richard Grey, Block & Crown, Crazibiza and Majestic have all forged a solid reputation among fans of Jackin’ House, with unique versions of tracks like ‘Rasputin’, ‘Pump Up The Jam’ and ‘Celebration’. I love how many of the tracks are mash-ups but produced in a way that gives them an exciting new feel that’s a million miles away from the two-trackers we know.

I’ve enjoyed experimenting with Jackin’ House tracks. They feel like a natural follow on to nu disco and by selecting the right tracks you can build the energy in your set seamlessly. Combining classic tracks with new remixes makes for some exciting results without going down a musical path that you or your audiences will not enjoy.
