Whilst there are events, gigs and festivals being planned and promoted there are still many aspects up in the air. Most people may see live events going ahead beyond 21st June; however, they don’t see the financial gap that needs to be filled to ensure there is a sector to return to and deliver such events. This is a devastating situation, many have not been eligible for Government financial support so are not applicable for any financial help, some have lost their homes. The #WeMakeEvents movement was formed in April 2020 to highlight the plight of the live events supply chain and raise charitable funds for those people and their families suffering.
On Saturday 12th June from 5pm BST #Rave2Recovery will commence a 24-hour, interactive, global fundraising spectacular to help this creative community. Hosted by Wax Worx and istreem radio boss Sacha Wall at 2Hi radio station, #Rave2Recovery will feature artists including: SKREAM, Judge Jules, and Brandon Block and will be broadcast online LIVE & VISUAL across the globe.
To kick off the fundraising immediately, music producer Wax Worx has released the #Rave2Recovery anthem ‘Get Up, Go Mad.’ All the proceeds of which will go to the cause. The track can be bought at www.rave2recovery.com for a minimum donation of £1 or as much as people would like to give.
#Rave2Recovery will also signpost support for mental health for those that work in the industry and encourage people to openup to others. Links to the industry charity Music Support’s NHS-approved wellbeing app ‘Thrive’ will be provided, which includes self-help toolkits and the ability to chat to experienced professionals on the helpline.
#Rave2Recovery will move through the ages of rave with the best party and club vibes. There’ll be banter with artists and celebrities added to the mix and tonnes of interactive fun. Free guest passes can be acquired exclusively from Pro Mobile's website.
Passholders will receive the stream link in the run up to the event, much like the old days of underground raving. Through the link they’ll be able to interact LIVE with the show and be entered into a draw to get a shout out from a famous DJ, a dedication, a tune request or win exclusive signed merchandise. The event will close on Sunday 13th June at 6pm GMT.
